The Apostolos
The Liturgical Apostolos is one of the principal books of Orthodox worship, containing the Acts of the Holy Apostles, the seven Catholic Epistles, and the fourteen Epistles of the Apostle Paul, divided into liturgical pericopes (zachala). The edition also includes the prokeimena, alleluiaria, and rubrics for the Epistle readings appointed for Sundays and weekdays, the period of Great Lent, the Twelve Great Feasts, the commemorations of the saints, and various occasional services. The book is intended for liturgical use and helps the reader follow the established order of readings throughout the church year. It will be of value both to church readers and clergy and to all who wish to become more deeply acquainted with Orthodox worship and the liturgical use of the books of the New Testament.
