Volume 2. Spiritual Awakening
This edition brings together two volumes of the spiritual counsels of Saint Paisios of Mount Athos: “Spiritual Awakening” and “Passions and Virtues.” The Elder speaks of spiritual watchfulness, the responsibility of the Christian, prayer, trust in God, and the need to keep the faith amid the trials of the modern world. Particular attention is given to the struggle against the passions, namely self-love, pride, judging others, envy, anger, and despondency, and to the acquisition of humility, love, patience, simplicity, and discernment.
